Bambu Lab H3C unveiled: tool changer with nine nozzles, AMS 3H and TPU 75A for €2,499

The H3C switches between nine heated tools in under 6 seconds, prints 1.75 and 2.85 mm filament and costs €2,499 in Europe with the AMS 3H.

At 3pm on 3 November 2026, Bambu Lab unveiled the H3C, its first true tool changer. Instead of swapping filament through one nozzle, the H3C has nine separate print tools, each with its own filament path and heater. According to Bambu Lab, it is available now in the Bambu Lab Store.

Swaptek: nine tools, swaps in under 6 seconds

Bambu Lab calls the core system Swaptek. All nine tools stay loaded and preheated. According to Bambu Lab, the actual tool change takes 3.4 seconds and the full material switch under 6 seconds. The software reads ahead in the G-code and heats the next tool while the current one is still printing (“Active Pre-Heat”). Because each tool has its own filament, there is no retract-and-reload cycle, and according to Bambu Lab purging is minimal. A retractable rack pulls the filament tubes back during printing so they do not get in the way.

As the teaser announced, all nine nozzles are hardened steel and heat up to 350 °C. Different nozzle sizes (0.2, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8 mm) can be mixed in one print, with each nozzle printing at its own layer height. Using five base colours (cyan, magenta, yellow, black, white), colours are also meant to be mixed. Optional extra tools such as a cutter, pen and deboss tool swap in the same way.

FlexFeed: 2.85 mm filament and soft TPU

A dedicated extruder called FlexFeed handles 2.85 mm filament as well as 1.75 mm. According to Bambu Lab, the thicker TPU stays stiffer and feeds more reliably. This lets the H3C print TPU down to Shore 75A at up to three times the flow of a typical printer.

AMS 3H

The new AMS 3H is an enclosed filament store with nine slots, matching the nine tools:

  • automatic loading, RFID spool recognition and inventory with remaining weight
  • two slots dry at up to 85 °C, even during printing
  • dedicated TPU inlets inside the enclosure
  • an older AMS can be connected via tool 1, for up to 24 spools in total

Specifications according to Bambu Lab

Prices

Package Europe (incl. VAT) US
H3C with AMS 3H €2,499 $2,499
with filament bundle (PLA colours and TPU) €2,579 $2,589
with open Bambu Station €2,789 $2,799
with enclosed Bambu Station and E1 air purifier €3,039 $3,049

In the UK, the base package costs £2,199. Bambu Lab gives no delivery date in its materials; according to the forum, the H3C is available now in the store.

For comparison

  • Bambu Lab H2C: same build volume (330 x 320 x 325 mm), but the Vortek system with up to seven hotends across two nozzle positions. From €1,798.99 at a specialist retailer (as of 1 November 2026, according to the wiki).
  • Creality K3: four nozzles, 260 x 260 x 260 mm, from $849 in the US, in Europe from December.
  • Snapmaker U1: four toolheads, 270 x 270 x 270 mm, €749 in the German shop.

The H3C is therefore much more expensive, but offers more than twice as many tools as the K3 and U1. What the first reviews say is in our H3C review round-up.

Also for older Bambu printers

Bambu Lab also announced that the H2D, H2C and X2D will be able to use different nozzle sizes in one print via a software update. Without a filament track switch, the H2D gets this from November 2026 and the H2C and X2D from February 2027. With a filament track switch, the H2D follows in February and the H2C and X2D in March 2027.

More on the teasers before the reveal is in our first H3C article. All specifications and comparisons with the H2C, K3, U1 and M1D are in the data sheet in the Maker Wiki.

Update 4 November 2026: TPU 75A in the store

The matching TPU 75A filament in 2.85 mm is now available in the store, according to Bambu Lab. It only works on the H3C with its dedicated 2.85 mm hotend and the FlexFeed extruder, at up to 10 mm³/s. Bambu Lab lists ten colours and certification for skin contact. The announcement gives no price.
