Bambu Lab PLA Palette: five base colours for over 180 blended colours
Bambu Lab launches a filament set of cyan, magenta, yellow, white and translucent black. Bambu Studio shows the blended colour in the preview.
Bambu Lab has announced a new filament set for blending colours directly during printing. PLA Palette CMYKW consists of five base colours: cyan, magenta, yellow and white are opaque, plus a translucent black. According to Bambu Lab, layering the colours produces over 180 colour combinations.
- Opacity: according to Bambu Lab, the four opaque colours let less than 1% of light through at a 2 mm wall. With the black, the effect depends on thickness: the thicker the layer, the darker.
- Material: based on PLA Basic. According to Bambu Lab, the set strings much less than typical translucent filaments.
- Software: Bambu Studio has a blending database, so the preview shows the colour you will actually get. Support arrived with Bambu Studio 2.9.1; more in our article on the first H3C reviews.
- Printers: all Bambu printers, according to Bambu Lab. How many colours you can use at once depends on how many spools a printer can switch between.
According to the announcement, the set is available now from the Bambu Lab Store. The announcement gives no euro price.
