Formlabs Form Studio 1: resin printer with Form 4 technology from €760.41, shipping from 16 November
Formlabs brings its Low Force Display process to an affordable resin printer for hobbyists and small businesses. From €760.41, shipping from 16 November.
Formlabs is best known for expensive professional resin printers. With the Form Studio 1, the company is now bringing its technology to an affordable machine for hobbyists and small businesses. It was unveiled on 14 October 2026 and can be ordered worldwide. Shipping starts on 16 November 2026.
What the Form Studio 1 does
Like the Form 4, the printer uses the Low Force Display process: each layer is exposed by an LCD with a light source of 28 LEDs, and parts peel away from the tank with little force. According to Formlabs, the pixels are 35 µm.
- Build volume: 20 x 12.5 x 23.5 cm (5.9 litres)
- Resin: from cartridges that are dispensed and heated automatically. Formlabs’ Alpha Resin costs from €34.51 per litre in Germany.
- Third-party resins: Open Material Mode allows 405 nm resins from other brands. You then fill the resin by hand and find the settings yourself. For many third-party resins, Formlabs recommends the Resin Tank Pro with a more chemically resistant film.
- Camera: built in, with a live view in the Form Mobile app.
Price
On the German Formlabs site, the Form Studio 1 starts at €760.41; in the US it starts at $699. At launch there is a Founders Edition in Graphite and limited Aqua, Teal and Violet, while stocks last and until 30 November at the latest. Buyers get their first Alpha Resin cartridge for €35. For washing and post-curing, Formlabs offers the compact Form Studio Wash+Cure.
A first detailed review comes from CNC Kitchen. All specifications and a comparison with the Form 4 are in the data sheet in the Maker Wiki.
