ELEGOO M1 Ultra: ELEGOO’s first 3D scanner available to pre-order from €1,599
ELEGOO enters 3D scanning with the M1 Ultra: blue laser and infrared, wireless over Wi-Fi 6, accurate to 0.02 mm according to the maker. Ships from 15 November.
ELEGOO is best known for FDM and resin printers. With the M1 Ultra, the company is now launching its first 3D scanner. Pre-orders open today, and according to ELEGOO shipping starts on 15 November 2026.
Laser and infrared in one device
The M1 Ultra is a handheld scanner with five scanning modes. Three of them use blue laser: 34 crossed lines for fast scans of larger parts, 7 parallel lines for fine detail and a single line for deep holes and narrow gaps. There is also an infrared mode for faces, people and large objects, plus a marker-free blue laser mode.
According to ELEGOO, the scanner reaches an accuracy of up to 0.02 mm in laser mode, with volumetric accuracy of 0.02 mm plus 0.06 mm per metre. The fastest laser mode captures up to 2,040,000 points per second. It is designed for objects from 5 millimetres to 4 metres and, according to the manufacturer, handles black and metallic surfaces without scanning spray.
Wireless, but not without a PC
The scanner has a 3-inch touchscreen, connects over Wi-Fi 6 and runs on a swappable 4,800 mAh battery. A spare battery is included, and ELEGOO quotes up to 1.5 hours of wireless scanning per battery. Processing runs on a computer with ELEGOO SCAN for Windows and macOS. ELEGOO recommends an RTX 4060 with 8 GB of video memory and 32 GB of RAM, which is a high bar.
Price and dates
The M1 Ultra costs €1,699. Until 12 November, an early bird price of €1,599 applies. For comparison, the Einstar 2 with laser and infrared currently costs €1,079 in the manufacturer’s shop and the Creality CR-Scan Raptor €1,199 (as of 29 October 2026).
All specifications, the box contents and the PC requirements are in the data sheet in the Maker Wiki.
Update 7 November 2026: first review at Tom’s Hardware
Tom’s Hardware is the first major outlet to review the M1 Ultra and gives it 3.5 out of 5. Verdict: packed with features but lacking refinement. The reviewer praises the easy calibration, long battery life with a spare battery and the on-device screen. Criticism: no turntable in the box, most objects need several scans that then have to be merged, and good results need a powerful laptop or PC. The reviewer rates scan quality on a par with other scanners she has tested, just with more effort.
