Xbox Cloud Gaming: monthly hour allowances in Game Pass from November, extra hours from $3.99
From November, Microsoft limits Game Pass cloud gaming to 5 to 15 hours a month. Extra hours can be bought, even without a subscription.
In November, Microsoft is changing cloud gaming in Xbox Game Pass. Until now, subscribers could stream without a time limit; from now on there is a fixed monthly allowance. Microsoft announced this back in September, and the month has now arrived. Microsoft has not given an exact start date.
Hours per month
| Subscription | Cloud hours per month |
|---|---|
| Game Pass Ultimate | 15 |
| Game Pass Premium | 10 |
| Game Pass Essential | 5 |
According to Microsoft, this affects around 4 percent of Game Pass subscribers who stream more.
Extra hours
Anyone who plays more can buy extra hours in the Xbox Store. From November, this also works without Game Pass, for streaming games you own. In the Xbox Insiders test, the packs cost the following at introductory prices:
- 10 hours: $3.99
- 25 hours: $7.99
- 50 hours: $11.99
Microsoft plans to announce euro prices and availability by country in November.
