Warhammer 40,000: dated rules log, next balance update from 7 December
Games Workshop introduces a dated log of rules changes for Warhammer 40,000. The next balance update is scheduled for the week beginning 7 December.
The October rules update for Warhammer 40,000 did not arrive in one go but as separate downloads spread over several days. On 29 October, Games Workshop admitted that this did not go well (“our bad”) and announced changes.
New log for rules changes
With the next version of the Warhammer 40,000 app, Warhammer Community will host a log of rules changes. Each entry gets a date and explains the change in plain terms. This is mainly meant to help players who only play now and then and otherwise lose track.
How often things change
Rules updates should come no more than once a month. Most will be clarifications and error fixes. Games Workshop is saving larger changes for the quarterly balance updates. According to Games Workshop, players who are not getting a new Codex only need to expect changes that noticeably affect games four times a year.
The next balance update is scheduled for the week beginning 7 December 2026.
