LEGO Icons Venetian Neighbourhood: Venice set with a 3D printed street piano
LEGO brings Venice to Icons with set 11388: 5,682 pieces, 17 minifigures, €499.99. The playable street piano is a 3D printed element.
LEGO has revealed the Icons set Venetian Neighbourhood (11388), a canal-side slice of Venice. One detail stands out for makers: the street piano in the set is a 3D printed element. Turn the small flower vase on top and, according to LEGO, it plays real notes.
The second printed element in retail
According to the trade magazine 3D ADEPT, the piano is only the second 3D printed element in a LEGO set sold at retail, after the small train in the Holiday Express Train (10361). LEGO made that train on an EOS powder bed system. For the piano, LEGO has named neither the printing process nor the material, and it is not known how the sound is produced.
