Kill Team October update: no special rules for Tomb World terrain, Breach for 10 teams

The Kill Team update of 28 October removes special rules for Tomb World terrain, clarifies ladders and cover and gives 10 teams the Breach action.

Games Workshop released a rules update for Kill Team on 28 October 2026. It mainly covers terrain and a few edge cases, plus minor changes for a number of teams. The rules are on the Warhammer Community downloads page.

Terrain: Tomb World goes standard

Terrain from Killzone: Tomb World used to have its own rules, for example on cover near walls. Pillars in wall segments did not count as intervening terrain. These special rules have been removed, and Tomb World terrain now works like standard Kill Team terrain. Games Workshop says the aim is fewer edge case rules for players to learn.

Vantage Points and ladders

There are new examples for Vantage Points showing when an operative there gets Light or Heavy cover against shots from below. It depends on the type of rampart in front of it and the attacker’s targeting line.

For ladders, the update clarifies that you cannot use a ladder to boost yourself significantly beyond its maximum span to reach a higher ledge as part of a single Reposition action.

Breach for 10 teams

Some teams may only perform certain actions under their rules. Ten of them can now also perform the Breach action in Killzone: Tomb World: Blooded, Chaos Cult, Exaction Squad, Fellgor Ravagers, Gellerpox Infected, Hunter Clade, Inquisitorial Agents, Legionaries, Ratlings and Vespid Stingwing.

Exodite Dragon Masters and other teams

The Exodite Dragon Masters receive clarifications for edge cases, such as how their mounted operatives interact with rules that force movement. With the Sprint and Turn actions, they cannot move an operative on a Conceal order within engagement range of enemy operatives, matching the Charge action.

Minor changes apply to 16 teams: Blooded, Brood Brothers, Canoptek Circle, Celestian Insidiants, Deathwatch, Goremongers, Hand of the Archon, Hernkyn Yaegirs, Inquisitorial Agents, Nemesis Claw, Novitiates, Pathfinders, Phobos Strike Team, Vespid Stingwing, Void-dancer Troupe and XV26 Stealth Battlesuits. Games Workshop describes them as small in scope but important for the teams affected.
