IKIER Flex on test: a small laser with infrared has arrived
The IKIER Flex with a 7 W diode and 1.2 W infrared is in my workshop. First impressions, specs and what I want to test as an entry-level machine.
Just arrived: the IKIER Flex in the version with a 7 W diode and 1.2 W infrared. A small machine, and my first thought was: everywhere, everything is getting bigger, more powerful and more expensive right now. So it is actually rather nice to test a small and affordable machine for a change.
First impression
At first glance the Flex looks good. It is sturdy, well packed and actually feels high quality.
By the way, IKIER is not some backyard operation but the premium subsidiary of Atomstack. The brand is well known among YouTubers and people who are into the technology, but less so in the mainstream.
What I want to test
I mainly want to look at the IKIER Flex as an entry point: for a pure hobby or for a very small business, such as markets or Etsy. Of course it is weaker than my Acmer P2 33W. But that is a completely different use case.
Above all, I want to see how the software works. And I am curious whether you can get started well on a budget, or whether I would regret not buying a big-brand machine like xTool or Glowforge. Let us see whether small is beautiful.

In IKIER’s German shop, the Flex costs €249 with 7 W and €459 with 7 W plus 1.2 W infrared (as of 29 October 2026, machine only). Bundles with an air purifier are also available.
