God of War Laufey delayed: PS5 game now out on 20 May 2027
Santa Monica Studio is delaying God of War Laufey by three months from 16 February to 20 May 2027. The studio says it needs the time for the finishing touches.
The next God of War is coming later than planned. On 4 November 2026, Santa Monica Studio announced that God of War Laufey will be released on 20 May 2027 instead of 16 February. The game is a PS5 exclusive.
The studio gives the finishing touches as the reason: it wants to polish the game and push it to its full potential. Santa Monica Studio gives no other reasons.
God of War Laufey was revealed in June 2026 and has been available to pre-order since the end of September. The studio has not said what the delay means for existing pre-orders.
