Games Workshop is now offering ready-painted plastic terrain for Warhammer 40,000 for the first time with “Battlefields: Armageddon”. Pre-orders opened on 17 October 2026.
What is in the set
According to Games Workshop, the set contains terrain for a full-sized game:
- 8 large and 8 small Manufactorum Ruins
- 2 Shock Arrays and 2 Capacitor Stacks
- 4 Rockcrete Barricades
- 2 Generator Shrines
- 4 Galvanic Pylons
- Terrain footprints and folding game boards
The pieces push-fit together, and according to the manufacturer you need neither glue nor paint to play. Games Workshop says several parts can be customised.
Price and availability
Games Workshop does not give a price or a release date in either announcement. The manufacturer notes that the set is only available in limited quantities for now (“limited quantity available at this time”). It is due to arrive in Japan at a later date.
Bought ready-made or made yourself
Terrain has always been a playground for makers in tabletop gaming. Ruins, barricades and scenery are often made on a 3D printer or from laser cut wood and MDF, then primed and painted. The ready-painted set is the other route: set it up and play, but without your own design. How the two routes compare in cost and effort can only be judged once Games Workshop names a price.
