Swap instead of replace

The focus is on interchangeable parts, all of which are included:

• ABXY modules: one with silicone buttons (soft) and one with micro-switches (clicky)
• D-pads: a classic cross and a circular one
• Sticks: six caps, namely two standard sticks, two tall ones, one thick-neck and one dome; according to the maker, the sticks are hot-swappable

Technology

The sticks use TMR sensors and a 12-bit converter. The triggers use Hall sensors and have two stops, so a short travel can be set for shooters. There are also extra bumpers (L4 and R4), two back buttons and RGB rings around the sticks. On PC over 2.4 GHz, the controller reaches a polling rate of up to 1000 Hz and also supports 6-axis motion control there. Many settings can be adjusted in 8BitDo’s free software.

A charging dock is included. According to the press release, the built-in battery lasts up to 18 hours.

Price

The RRP is €139.99 or £124.99. The controller is available from major retailers and online shops.
